FWIS: 2012 goals

remember this post? remember these two ladies? jessica corra and bria quinlan? good, because it’s time for another round, and this one includes some serious business.

today’s topic: goals for 2012

something i get from my mother is my love of the even years, so i have a feeling 2012 is going to be good to me. because i’ve got that going for me, i’ve decided to limit my goals for 2012 so that i can really focus:

(1) have my current MS read and critiqued by 3 people.

(2) write a query letter for that MS.

(3) start contacting agents.

(4) sign with an agent.

that’s it. one step at a time. one revision at a time. one lifelong goal at a time.

Focus on the first three, and the fourth will come without half-trying. :)

You can do it! I’m so excited to sit back and watch… my list only has that: Watch Abby Succeed.

Ok, maybe not JUST that, but it’s definitely one of the unwritten ones for 2012 ;)

You go girl…. I’m so pround of you. You can do it, you will do it. If you need an extra amateur reader, I’m your girl. <3

Short and sweet, that’s what all goals should be! YOU CAN DO IT, WRITER!

i wouldn’t mind throwing my name into the reader hat…er…that is if i haven’t burned my bridges with the last beta read i did. i know i can be mean sometimes…well, all the time, but that’s what a meanie does :)

also, like Linda said, focus on the first three and you’ll probs hook an agent without even trying.

    • abby mumford Says:

actually, you were on my shortlist of people to bug, i mean, ask to read for me, so i’m glad you are offering! it makes you seem NICER, but feel free to be MEAN to my MS. it needs it. desperately.
